I was challenged the other night to present a clear and concise version of why my wife and I left the church and migrated to the Hebraic roots movement. It has been several years since we began to smell something funny in the church. That led us to investigate and we were surprised that the smell was old and it was due to some enterprising pastors who had begun to prick at the corpse that was the 4th Century church. We thought that had long ago dried up and exhausted its last vapor of death. As I relate this story, you may find yourselves sniffing around and holding your noses like we did over the past year.
A rediscovery has taken place in our lifetimes of an ancient prayer form that the Catholics call centering prayer. This is being sold today as contemplative prayer in christian bookstores by the likes of Henri Nouwen, Richard Foster, Donald Miller, Mother Theresa, Anne Lamott and many others. It was brought into the church under the table and given to the youth pastor to raise up a generation of Contemplatives without their parents knowledge. Business guru Peter Drucker and Bob Buford led the way and America’s pastor, Rick Warren, consulted with Drucker twice a year for 20 years which led to the Purpose Driven Church movement. Warren has denied this all along until a week ago when he admitted his church had an association with this movement through its Spiritual Director. Most observers have known of Warren’s contemplative proclivities all along.
Because the adults weren’t briefed on this infiltration, they shrugged it off. Many pastors and leaders that I have talked to have no idea that the next generation of church leaders will be essentially using the prayer technique of Hindu Transcendental Meditation in their devotions. This is contemplative prayer. The lack of alarm really puzzled me in my home church. A prominent leader of a prominent church spoke out against this and he came home from a speaking tour to find his office lock changed and all of his office equipment out in the hall in boxes.
According to the proponents of contemplative prayer, it is a practice that goes back to the 4th century desert fathers who were early catholic monks. It is being revived today in the protestant church but it has been practiced by many in the catholic church over the centuries, St. Theresa of Avila, Brother Lawrence and others. Are you getting my drift? This is a part of the apostate 4th century church and it is being promoted to protestants to connect the unwary with the “doctrine of demons.”
Here’s a shocking fact. You cannot graduate from a protestant theological seminary today unless you take courses your whole term on contemplative spirituality. This deviation entered through the back door as 2 prominent academic accrediting agencies mandated this. The rub is that none of these mandatory classes count for any credits academic or otherwise.
I have found that some of the hardest people to preach the Gospel to are those who have given their emptied minds to evil spirits through Transcendental Meditation. Imagine witnessing to the many zombies who gave their minds over to TM like the Beatles, Beach Boys, Donovan, The Doors and many others did.
At church, nobody was listening and I huffed and I puffed… well no, not really but Yehovah, our Father in Heaven, was calling us. He began to reveal to us that the whole lump was leavened and corrupt and why it was so. This smelly abomination was just the tip of the problem as the grave clothes of the Church were pierced and odoriferous things wafted out. Our first glimpse of how bad it was came courtesy of a little book written by C. J. Koster, “Come out of Her, My People.” I was not prepared for what I learned. Just about every word I had used in everyday Christian life was from a corrupt demonic source.
- Sunday: The day of worship of the Sun.
- Easter: The Babylonian fertility goddess. The resurrected Semiramis, the wife of Nimrod and mother of Tammuz.
- Christmas: Christ Mass. Mass means death in Latin. December 25th happens to be the birthday of all forms of sun gods and sun god worship. Mithraism, a sun worship cult was also prominent in the 4th century with Augustine a devotee in the early part of his life.
- Cross: In the Greek, the word is “stauros” It means stake or pole. Somebody pulled a fast one and substituted the word cross, the symbol of Tammuz, a Babylonian sun god born on, you guessed it, December 25th.
- Church: Derived from the name for the Goddess Circe the daughter of Helios, the Sun God. One of the derivatives of Circe is the noun circus.
- Amen: Pronounced as Ah-men, it is the name of the Egyptian Sun God Amen-Ra. A careful look at the Greek word through a Strong’s Concordance and you’ll find that it is pronounced amein and rhymes with chow mein.
- Holy: The female demon that attempted to poison the Hindu God Krishna as a babe.
- Hallowed: A word derived from Holy that originates with the “divinely honored sun”. Halloween comes from this word.
- Sacred: Related to the Hindu sun deity, Sakra.
- Sanctified, sanctuary: The name of a pagan deity associated with Apollo, the sun god and Jupiter.
- The Fish Symbol: Identified with the fish god, Dagon. An extreme example of Dagon worship is the fish hats worn by the Pope and his minions. A lesser extreme is the ichthus commonly found on the bumpers of cars in church parking lots.
- Glory: Termed the splendor of the sun. Considered to be the sun burst or halo used in religious paintings but, c’mon, it is tied into sun worship.
I could go on but it just gets worse. The church has been long corrupted into the many cults of sun worship. What we had discovered was already prophesied in Jeremiah 16:19.
“O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.”
Please note, the day of affliction is the Great Tribulation.
You might say that these words are Christian now. It may have had a pagan religion tied to it then but that is not how we are using it today. Really? Who gave you the power to do that? The Bible says that we are not supposed to speak any of these names. In Exodus 23:13, YehoVAH explicitly prohibits His people from uttering names of other deities (other mighty ones).
Exodus 23:13 – And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
One well meaning pastor told me that the phrase “my people” refers to the Jews and not the church. Huh? Both the Jew and the Gentile have been pruned from the tree for disobedience and the Messiah’s mission is to graft us BOTH back on the root of Jacob.
Romans 11:24 – “For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?”
As we continued to study why there were so many theological holes in church preaching, we began to learn of a large number of corruptions in the English Bible. The name of God appears in the Old Testament over 6800 times but it is covered over by the indistinct title Lord. Lord who? Lord Krishna? Lord Vader? The reasons for this are complicated and stupid. God wants His name to be known.
In Hebrew it is written as (Oops, WordPress doesn’t have a Hebrew font) in which the Hebrew letters can be pronounced as Yud Hey Vav Hey. Sometimes in English, YHVH. When the proper vowels are added it is pronounced YehoVAH, Short “e” as in yith, YehoVAH with the accent on the last symbol. This is revolutionary because the Jews have claimed that the name is too “holy” to be mentioned. Pope Benedict recently wrote a papal bull admonishing Catholics not to speak the name YehoVAH. His name must be getting out.
Exodus 3:15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD YehoVAH God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
All throughout the Bible, YehoVAH tells us to use His name:
Numbers 6:27 – “And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.”
Isaiah 52:6 – “Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.”
As we kept turning up evidence at the prompting of the Spirit, we learned that there is a Greek Jesus and a Hebrew Yeshua. Which one should we follow? It is claimed in christiandom that the new testament is original in its Greek form yet there are many scholars who are finding either Hebrew gospel texts or examining the awkward Greek and seeing Hebrew origins of the text. None of the Greek oriented pastors we have talked to or listened to seem to understand the Jewish context in which all of Yeshua’s message was given.
And then the BIG divide that separates the 4th century church with the Hebrew roots movement. Does the law apply? I won’t systematically argue that here but please note that Yeshua the Messiah never once said the law was going away. Paul described himself as a Torah law abiding Jew AFTER his confrontation with the Messiah on the road to Damascus and later conversion. We fail to realize that Paul spent 13 years relearning his Bible after he was called out of the Pharisee movement. He went back to his Hebraic Roots. There’s no way that Paul nullified the law in his epistles. We also forget that Yeshua said:
Matthew 5:19 – “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
It is insane to think that the Messiah said that and then did away with the law when he shouted, “It is FINISHED”. What was finished was His quest to wrench the title deed of the Earth back from Satan after Adam gave it away. But 99.99% of the church ignores the law in favor of grace and doesn’t understand why the world is falling apart. The amount of sexual perversion that is in the church should make us blush. Not to mention the lusts for another churchman’s wife, high divorce rates and un-trust-worthy people. Next time your pastor bemoans how bad it is becoming in America, tell him to shut up and go look in the mirror! He is with those who replaced God’s law with man’s law. And by grace, he should get back to preaching the beauty of mosaic law.
So, it came down to, for us, finding a group of people who believed in the entire Bible and studied it in its Hebraic context. It’s a small movement right now with a lot of unhomogenous groups between the various assemblies. That’s probably as it should be. We don’t need any more Nicolaitans at the top of the pyramid. The closest we’ve come to a good congregation is through the TV ministry of Michael Rood. There are many very interesting and instructive videos on his YouTube site and at his website, aroodawakening.tv
It is written that it is the mixing of pagan religions, pagan practices and pagan words with Mosaic law and the Messianic faith, or better said as that which is commanded by YehoVAH, that angers Him the most. He kept His chosen ones, the Israelites, on a very short leash before they were disciplined for their disobedience as an example to us. He is giving us a very long leash in hopes that some of us may wake up in time to repent. The next scheduled discipline is permanent. We have the example and we have His Word now let’s go re-teach the world the 1st century faith of Yeshua the Messiah before it is too late.
