Bible Quiz Question #4:

My wife and I are sitting down to eat a nice lamb dinner. What Biblical feast are we celebrating today?

Answer: Passover. The Gregorian calendar date for this question is April 23rd, 2016 at 6:34 PM.

I suppose the big sin of the church is that it assumes it can write the rules and overrule YeHoVaH. When Y’shua tabernacled with man (born during the Hebrew Feast of Tabernacles), the Roman Julian calendar was in effect but only for a few decades. God’s biblical calendar was universally followed by Y’shua and Israel.

The Messiah was obedient to attend the 7 YeHoVaH appointed feasts and festivals that He instituted in the Tanak for his followers to party by. They are like dress rehearsals. “They are the foreshadowing of good things to come.”[1]

A Roman edict in the 3rd century forced the Sanhedrin to give up control of the biblical calendar. Once again Rome jumps in with force, you’ll follow our pagan ways or you will be hunted down and murdered. From that prohibition, the Jews came up with an astronomical calendar that is keyed on the lunar eclipse or the dark side of the moon. This pre-calculated Jewish calendar can be off by as much as 30 days of the biblical calendar and usually it’s off by about 1 or 2 days.[2]

In the past 20 years an effort has arisen in Israel to bring back and live by the God established biblical calendar. My wife and I were a part of this restoration when we were recently in Israel. It was exciting.

The Biblical calendar is based on observations of the new moon from Israel. The Hebrew New Year is based upon the ripening of barley, the poor man’s grain. If enough barley has ripened or become aviv before the new moon is sighted, then it becomes the new moon of the 1st month of the New Year. This is the month of Aviv. Passover takes place on the 14th of Aviv. This was the Hebrew calendar in the days of Y’shua.

Sometimes it’s cloudy or the aviv barely is not quite ready so the New Year is delayed. Both of these events happened this year. There had to be enough ripe barley found to allow for the priest to make barley cakes and wave them before the altar on the Feast of First Fruits like back in the days of the Temple. That was not the case this year and the month of Aviv was delayed by a moon cycle.

The next new moon fell on the time that we were on tour in Israel. Our tour guide and internet teacher, Michael Rood, is a member of the Israeli New Moon Society. He took us on the bus up the hill from our Dead Sea hotel (1700 feet below sea level) but it turned out that the haze was too strong and no new moon was sighted. This then moved the first of the month ahead by one day.[3]

So on Saturday night, April 9th, we celebrated the New Year of Aviv 1, 6016, with the blowing of the Shofar and several glasses of wine each in our party of 50. YeHoVaH answered with several thunder storms and cloud bursts. It was a crazy windy New Year celebration along the shores of the Dead Sea.

The Feast of First Fruits is fascinating. Like Passover, which was the redemption of the earth and man, First Fruits was a down payment on the promise. You may remember that a number of Saints were seen resurrected in Jerusalem at this time. These Saints were the First Fruits. Y’shua took them to Heaven and presented or waved them before the Father on that Sunday morning. Sorry that this has to be pointed out but he was out of the grave before sunset on Saturday.[4]

I believe this YeHoVaH designed calendar is part of the reason why the Messiah said that no man will know the day or the time of His coming even though we know he is coming on the feast of trumpets. That is when the Last Trump in the Bible will sound in some future year.

Why won’t we know? Because Jews and the Gentiles don’t follow God’s calendar.

Unfortunately, the church has told you not to think about the end times for their own promotional purposes.[5] It could be that it is a distraction from the church “growth” agenda and it could be that, the day and the hour can’t be known.[6] This is part of the anti-Semitic deception that the church lives under.

But the time of the season can be known including the year, month or month plus 1 and day or day plus 1. We will know when we are getting close but because the church has thrown away all Jewish Bible understandings of time, the church is misinforming the pew sitters and is deeply in the dark on this one.

Today, when I talk with churchmen, I hear the long echoes of the deep isolation that they’ve been living in for centuries as they hide from YeHoVaH and the full council of His word given to the Hebrews and written by Hebrews. It’s very important to realize that Israel does not get saved and join the church as most Christians are taught. The Gentile and Jewish righteous are grafted onto the Jewish root!

And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. (Romans 11:17-18 NKJV)

And let me point out to you that the term Zion, means grafting.[7]

[1] Quote from Michael Rood of Shabbat Night Live.

[2] If you think about the existing technology in the 4th century, this was an amazing mathematical feat. But the Jews know they are off kilter with the universe. It is a common practice in Orthodox Judaism to celebrate a festival over two days in hopes that one of the days would line up with the actual God appointed day.

[3] Michael Rood is publisher of “The Astronomically and Agriculturally Corrected Biblical Hebrew Calendar” available from

[4] When Y’shua said 3 days and 3 nights, he meant 3 days and 3 nights!!!

[5] The church wants you involved with their activities instead of you spending appropriate time on protecting your family from Ha Satan’s last stand.

[6] Mark 13:32 indicates that we won’t know the precise time.

[7] Another agricultural term that allows, for instance, the splicing of a pear branch into the branch of an apple tree. What a great metaphor for the future of the church. Get on board, guys!

Bible Quiz

Quiz Question #3:

Where in the Bible was the first day of rest, the Sabbath, first established?

The answer is Genesis 2:1-3.

Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day אֱלֹהִים Elohiym ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then אֱלֹהִים Elohiym blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which אֱלֹהִים Elohiym had created and made. (Genesis 2:1-3)

Of course, this is not the only place where the Sabbath is mentioned in the Bible. Here is another citation from one of the many places.

Then he said to them, “This is what יְהֹוָה Yehovah has said: ‘Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to יְהֹוָה Yehovah. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.'” (Exodus 16:23)

En Español, Saturday is known as Sábado. If you are a believer that is more appropriate than our “Saturn” day. Now, I have not yet mentioned the “commandments” which I believe were not given to us to constrain us but to bless us. I will remind you that the Sabbath is required in the 4th commandment. There are theological land mines that I will tackle later. There is plenty of evidence in the Gospels that the Messiah expects us all to follow the law including setting apart the Sabbath.

The Sabbath is found in many more scripture passages than the 10 commandments but it was first established by YeHoVaH in Genesis 2. It was honored by Y’shua…

And He said to them, “The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” (Luke 6:5 NKJV)

“Lord” of the Sabbath can be translated as יְהֹוָה or YeHoVaH. You could also translate this word as Creator of the Sabbath.

It is notable that in Messiah’s confrontations with the Pharisees it’s not apparent on the surface that this is a battle of 2 sets of laws. But it was and still is! It was all about the Pharisee man made “oral” law vs. the Mosaic God given written law. The Mishnah verses the Torah. The Pharisees vs. the Messiah.

And Sha’ul customarily kept the Sabbath and went to Synagogue…

Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, (Acts 17:2 NKJV)

And it is commanded for us to observe it as a blessing to us.

And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: (Mark 2:27 KJV)

Thank you, Y’shua!

Bible Quiz Question#2:

Here is the answer to Bible Quiz Question #2

According to the Bible, the calendar day begins at sunrise, sunset or midnight?

Answer: Sunset. This is straightforward from Genesis:

In the beginning אֱלֹהִים Elohiym[1] created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the רוּחַ ruach[2] breath of אֱלֹהִים Elohiym was hovering over the face of the waters. Then אֱלֹהִים Elohiym said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And אֱלֹהִים Elohiym saw the light, that it was good; and אֱלֹהִים Elohiym divided the light from the darkness. אֱלֹהִים Elohiym called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. (Genesis 1:1-5 KJp)

Please notice the order in this paragraph. Darkness then light. Evening then morning. This is the historic pattern followed by Israel even up to today.

Let’s take a look at Shabbat, the day of rest, the 4th of the ten commandments begins on Friday at sunset.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it קֹדֶשׁ qodesh[3], to set it apart. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of יְהֹוָה Yehovah[4] thy אֱלֹהִים Elohiym: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days יְהֹוָה Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore יְהֹוָה Yehovah blessed the sabbath day, and קֹדֶשׁ qodesh, set it apart. (Exodus 20:8-11 KJp)

This begins at sunset and ends at sunset according to the Bible. Many Jews in our day start early on Friday to prepare food for the party that Sabbath is. The orthodox Jews begin the Sabbath early with a candle lighting ceremony and extend it beyond the next sunset for reasons pertaining to their special man-made rules[5]. In the text of Exodus 5:21, the 4th commandment Sabbath is a day that Yehovah blessed and set apart.

[1] The plural form of the name. Translated God in most places.

[2] Mainly translated as Holy Spirit but consider that our life began when Elohiym breathed into us.

[3] Commonly translated as Holy. But because the word is also used to describe lepers and people who perform unclean acts, set apart is a more appropriate translation. Set yourselves apart from the world and live cleanly before God is a good way to look at it.

[4] The name of God that is forbidden to be uttered by Orthodox Jews and the Pope. Presented here in its form as found in Strong’s concordance translating יְהֹוָה. I sometimes use the form YeHoVaH to highlight the vowels and consonants.

[5] Traditions of the Rabbi’s.

Bible Quiz Question #1 Answer

It’s time for answers. We will put these out one at a time as time allows.

#1. Since Jesus was born some 2000 odd years ago, how were Abraham, Moses and David saved?

We expect that we are receiving it all when we “get saved.” A new heart, a new spirit and the Holy Spirit. What do we really get? A recognition of who He is and who we are. Actual safety is after we die and are resurrected and we clear the judgment and receive our glorified bodies and enter the Kingdom.

In Revelation, John reveals the loud voice:

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of יהוה, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before יהוה day and night. (Revelation 12:9-10 KJV)

An interesting word study on salvation. The word that is translated as sotariah in the Septuagint and salvation in English throughout the Bible is the word Shalom in Hebrew! Peace in English! See Ge 26:21. Sotariah was also used to translate the Hebrew word y’shua as salvation.

This brings a whole new character to our understanding of being saved. There’s no doubt that becoming friends with Y’shua brings peace into your life. And there is no doubt that Y’shua or Salvation took the necessary steps to set us apart from the mass of humanity that will flunk the great white throne judgement.

So, we are destined to be delivered or saved from the second death but we still live in corruption and nearly all of us will taste the first death. There is a trigger, however. The Tanach says this about Abraham:

And behold, the word of יהוה came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.” Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him (Abraham), “So shall your descendants be.” And he (Abraham) believed in יהוה, and He (יהוה) accounted it to him for righteousness. (Genesis 15:4-6)

 The trigger word is believe.

David is notable because his heart was towards יהוה. This is another way to say he was a believer. This is also a stern warning to every self-serving earthly king because you too can be replaced and you will.

But now your kingdom shall not continue (Saul). יהוה has sought for Himself a man after His own heart (David), and יהוה has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what יהךה commanded you.” (1 Samuel 13:14)

When we believe in יהוה we turn our heart toward Him. We obey His commandments and He imputes His righteousness to us. We listen to him. We believe and trust without evidence except for that His word tells us who He is.

As a father, when I asked my kids to do the dishes or mow the lawn, I considered that they were listening if they actually did what I commanded them to do. Listening is important. When He says obey my commandments and you don’t, you are not listening and you are missing the mark that he set for you.

Only the righteous can be allowed into the Kingdom but none of us are naturally righteous. Messiah’s mission to die with “earned” righteousness was the only way that somebody could be worthy to open the scroll in Heaven, which is the title deed to the Earth and repossession of its inhabitants. His mission was to dispossess Ha Satan, the adversary, who stole it from Adam.

Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” (Revelation 5:2-5)

Righteous Y’shua, with no shadow of turning in Him, died to end the Kingdom of Ha Satan and re-claim title to the earth at a point in time after the days of Abraham, Moses and David.

Through our love for יהוה our belief in Him, our listening to him and our waiting for Him, we are gifted with imputed righteousness.

I have waited for thy salvation, יהוה. (Genesis 49:18 KJV)

From the lips of Jacob in Hebrew “salvation” is Y’shua. Amazing!!

Can you be saved at an altar call? No. The altar call is one method the church uses for “saving” people. It was invented in the 19th century by certain Methodist preachers who wanted to track the people in a Nicolaitan fashion who were responding to the message. (According to Wikipedia).

The answer is that Abraham, Moses and David (will be and) are saved by grace through faith (belief).

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed יהוה, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of יהוה. (James 2:23 KJV)

Friends talk and listen. They don’t offend.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. (Habakkuk 2:4 KJV)

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of יהוה shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom יהוה shall call. (Joel 2:32 KJV)

Do we need deliverance? You bet we do.

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation (Y’shua) is of the Jews. (John 4:22 KJV)

The above is a conversation between the Samaritan woman and Jesus whose Hebrew name is Y’shua.

It is by our belief in, or by our faith in יהוה that we are destined to be saved from the judgement we deserve at the Great White Throne. The church is careless in its use of the term saved. What it really means is that we are covered at the judgement by a person named Salvation (Heb. Y’shua, Grk. Jesus) and we are released to enter the Kingdom of יהוה as free men and friends of יהוה who are delivered from the fate of eternity in the Lake of Fire.

It is possible that Abraham, Moses and David are part of the 24 elders depicted in Revelation in a special resurrection called Firstfruits. Otherwise, Tanach saints are saved just like we are. By faith.

Thanks to Michael Rood who in a conversation I overheard recently inspired this post.

A Bible Quiz

Do you like to take quizzes? It seems that many learning apps out there are focused on the quiz style of learning. So today, I am publishing a quiz. There will be answers to follow but why don’t you take the quiz and see where you stand and then check back to see where I stand.

By way of background, this quiz and my ministry is based on several Bible verses and the very obvious Jewishness of the New Testament that is ignored by the gentile church. To the church goer, I look like a lunatic but YeHoVaH (יהךה)explains the problem in Jer 16:19:

O יהוה, my strength and my fortress, My refuge in the day of affliction, The Gentiles shall come to You From the ends of the earth and say, “Surely our fathers have inherited lies, Worthlessness and unprofitable things.” (Jeremiah 16:19, NKJV)

These are the church fathers going back to the 2nd century and leading up to today’s seminary educated pastors. Your pastor has been taught to follow the guy before who followed the guy before, etc. There are several problems here and I’ll get to them…

The Messiah said:

Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. (Matthew 23:9)

Since Y’shua anticipated church fathers and the pope (latin for father), he warned us not to venerate men who seek to be exalted and their corrupt theology by calling them father. He said he hated the deeds of the Nicolaitans. More on that later.

How corrupt? The Catholics brag that there is no scripture that directs the church to worship on Sunday but they are the all-powerful church and they can change יהךה’s word. Boy does YeHoVaH (יהוה) have a surprise for them!

You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God יהוה which I command you. Your eyes have seen what יהוה did at Baal Peor; for יהוה your God has destroyed from among you all the men who followed Baal of Peor. (Deuteronomy 4:2-3)

YeHoVaH יהוה destroyed the pagans in the assembly of Israel who worshiped false God’s.

For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God (יהוה) will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God (יהוה) shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19)

Let me point out a translation error in all Bibles, speaking of taking things away from the Book. The word LORD is a title and not a name. It is the Hebrew letters יהוה or yod hay vav hay. It was translated by a Jewish scholar, Nehemia Gordon and a Methodist minister, Keith Johnson recently from the Hebrew text using the Masoretic vowel pointing system as YeHoVaH. This is important in my ministry to help restore the name of God to everybody’s lips. Please note that Hebrew is read from right to left.

There are a small number of instances where the Hebrew language vowel pointing of יהוה’s name is left intact in the Aleppo codex. These Hebrew text “incidents” were somehow overlooked by the Masoretes. Jewish leaders and even high ranking Nicolaitan leaders like the Pope have banned the use of יהוה’s true name. How about that for a twist! Those who we look to as representatives of יהוה won’t use His actual name.

YeHoVaH. Very close to Jehovah but you need to know that the “J” is a letter that has been only recently added to our alphabet. It is not found in Greek or Hebrew. Yeh rhymes with yith. When I was in Jerusalem last month, I was happy to hug my dear friend, the Dead Sea Scrolls scholar, Nehemia Gordon who assisted in getting this information out.

The reason that יהוה’s name is disrespected in the english Bible is because the King James translators learned from orthodox (Pharisee) Rabbi’s that יהוה’s name was too holy to be pronounced. Unfortunately for them that concept is not found in Scripture. If you remember in the New Testament, it is the Pharisees that Messiah denounced and repudiated the most. Yes, the Jews have been massively misled too. Here YeHoVaH is talking to Moses who was confronting Pharaoh:

But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth. (Exodus 9:16)

This is one of many scriptures where YeHoVaH says to use his powerful name. Try it!

There’s another aspect to the Hebrew alphabet related to what the letters mean. For instance, yod means hand. Hay means behold. Vav means nail. This works out to “Hand, behold! Nail, behold!” יהוה’s act of eternal sacrifice is encoded in the name of God! A name that is rich with meaning and humility. It’s a shame that the spirit of Babylon has influenced world-wide ignorance of His name. You can check this out in the book on Hebrew grammar by Gesenius. Remember, it strengthens the adversary for us to omit יהוה’s name. So it’s important to me to address our heavenly Father as YeHoVaH as He desires.

These are some of the principles of my ministry. And now, let’s answer some quiz questions.

The idea of a Bible quiz came to me from the ministry of Chuck Missler where he goes in-depth verse by verse through the Bible in hour long studies and you can take a quiz for a grade through his Koinonia institute. It was a good place for me to start. I found his group to be exclusive and Nicolaitan by nature of its University structure but I don’t hold that against Chuck. Anybody as exceptional in preaching God’s word as Chuck Missler will attract possessive people to their ministry.

No grades here, in case you are wondering. This quiz is aimed to be thought provoking. SO GO FOR IT!

Happy Trails!

I am excited about the near future for Karen and I and maybe not so much for time after. I have just wrapped a fun and interesting job at a local PBS station that I would rank as the best job I have ever had where working in Television in the capacity that I did was a dream from High School fulfilled. Now I have retired. Early. What’s up?

Geopolitical Concerns

Since I first received my KJV Bible in the 60’s at widow Larson’s yearly gospel kid gathering, I have been drawn to Revelation. Tough book to read when you are 9.

Over the years, Revelation has slowly come into focus for me through geopolitical events written about in our nation’s news. Drones, robots, the end of cash as we know it to prevent bank runs, microchip tattoo ink, the glut of oil.

An ancient nation somehow revived is destroyed before the final events. Jeremiah describes its doom as God sending a fire into all of its cities. He describes it as having the largest military on earth and being known as the “hammer of the earth.” It is the richest nation in history. It is surrounded by water. It has a space program. My research has turned up evidence that this nation is the USA.

I believe that a precursor event to the unfolding of Revelation is the nuking of America. We want to watch that show from afar as the prophet Jeremiah says to flee. The US and Russia are rattling sabers at each other as I write this. Our president keeps firing Generals. This isn’t going to end well.

In Closing

Check your sources. At some point, only the government view will be allowed on the internet but while you can still do your research, check your sources.

“A Prudent man foreseeth the evil and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. Proverbs 22:3.

Are You Ready?

Another side note. This time on Salvation.

We have been given a multitude of methods to be saved, such as infant baptism. Regularly attending church. Living in a Christian country. Going to Bible school. Reciting prayers. Staying in good stead with the Pope so that he will recommend you be allowed to go to Heaven. Then there is the altar call where you go forward and confess Christ. It has occurred to me that Salvation needs to be explained.

Take note that every one of these common understandings of the process of salvation require that we do something. Perform a work of some kind.

Ephesians 2:8-9

(8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

(9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.

No Sir! Going forward at an altar call is not a salvation event. It is a work on display for others to see.

If YeHoVaH is love, we need to love what He loves!

If you can do that, it’s only because He has supernaturally healed you and “graced” you with the ability to love like Him. Accept this precept and you will have no doubt that YeHoVaH loves you and has added you to His family.

Remembering that love is a verb, try reading these 10 precepts from the Torah starting with Exodus 20:1 to gain an understanding of what He loves.

  1. YeHoVaH loves Himself. He loves us. Remember how much He has done for us and that He wants us to love Him!
  2. He wants us to love the real thing! We are to love the real creation and not the man made facsimiles of it.
  3. Love His Name! YeHoVaH. Use it with His purpose in mind. Love what His powerful name can accomplish.
  4. Love the rest he gave to us on the 7th day. Love is a verb so utilize His rest.
  5. Love the family He gave you. Love your Mom and love your Dad.
  6. Love life! Hate murder!
  7. Love sexual purity!
  8. Love what he’s given you and respect what he has given to your neighbor.
  9. YeHoVaH is truth. Love the truth and remember that love is a verb! Always love the Truth!
  10. Love your neighbor. Love like YeHoVaH. Unconditionally. He sustains you, Love how he sustains your neighbor.

This little commentary on the 10 Commandments demonstrates the power of loving what God loves. I have heard this passage of scripture called bondage by antinomians. Not so! Hating your mom and dad would put you into bondage for instance. Committing murder would put you into jail.

Remember, the Messiah said many times to FOLLOW HIM. This is what He PREACHED!

So, how hard is this Salvation?
