Have you ever wondered why the United States of America, the richest and most powerful nation in all of history, has no direct name mentioned or a connection with the Biblically described end times? I have. I have thought that maybe we would be overcome by bad politicians, bad money policies or societal breakdown and we just wouldn’t matter as the end times stage shifted to the 10 nations of the Anti-Christ. Read on for there may be another reason.
“And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.[1]” (Jeremiah 50:32)
Jeremiah 50, 51 along with Isaiah 18, 47 and Revelation 17, 18 tell the sad tale of a nation that is destroyed by fire. This nation’s Biblical name is Babylon or the Daughter of Babylon. The Bible goes into modern, “ripped directly from the webpages of the internet,” detail to describe this nation. Let’s dig in to find out who this is about.
It is a Wealthy Nation.
‘For in one hour such great riches was laid waste…’ (Revelation 18:17)
‘Woe! Woe, the great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! (Revelation 18:19)
Let’s examine the 10 top nations by Gross Domestic Product or GDP in ranking order: China, The United States Of America, Japan, Germany, The United Kingdom, France, Brazil, Italy, India and Russia[2]. Clearly the United States is the leader when you look at GDP per capita (or as a ratio of the population). China, however has a higher overall GDP number after recently overtaking the USA. But in terms of GDP per citizen:
As far as being the world leader in the category of personal wealth goes, the USA is $11,000 per person higher than the nearest nation, Germany. China and India rank #9 and #10 respectively. My vote is for America as the wealthiest nation.
Has a Strong Military
“Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;” (Jeremiah 51:20)
“How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!”(Jeremiah 50:23)
The “hammer” of the whole EARTH? Maybe so. I’ve heard the US referred to as the policeman of the world many times over the years. Our currency supremacy until recently, the Petrodollar, is maintained in its lofty status by our military. This chart tells all.
The next chart depicts the cash that nations poured into their militaries in 2014.
Once again, The United States of America spends the most on military operations and my vote is once again for the good ole’ US of A as the Hammer of the Earth. But which nations on our list have nuclear weapons[3]?
One of these nations may just well be the igniter of God’s fire in the cities of modern day Babylon.
It is a Nation That Depends On Imports
“And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their merchandise any more – (Revelation 18:11)
“And they threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and mourning, and saying, ‘Woe! Woe, the great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she was laid waste.’ (Revelation 18:19)
There are several scriptures that depict this nation’s great wealth as seen through the eyes of the captains of merchant ships at sea as they bring their cargos of merchandise. Here’s a chart depicting world imports. 
My vote once again is for the United States of America.
It’s a Land Surrounded by Many Waters.
O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy covetousness.(Jeremiah 51:13)
Clearly the original Babylon in Iraq has a river and a river delta but not much in the way of water or being surrounded by water. Several nations come to mind as being entirely surrounded by water and they include Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Aruba, etc. But which one of the top 10 most important nations resembles this prophecy? Maybe the most significant measure is the ratio of a nation’s coastline to its land border.
The hands down winner is Japan. Russia is #4 and the USA is a close #5. Put in a different light, and the picture gets a little clearer.
Russia with its vast Arctic Ocean exposure and Japan’s complete exposure to the sea rank #1 and #2 respectively for amount of national coastline. Although the USA leads in every other category so far, it comes in 3rd in being surrounded by water. But it is surrounded by considerable shoreline including the Great Lakes, the Mississippi River, East, West and Gulf coasts. It is a major point of our military strength and our wealth. Russia gets my vote for being surrounded by water but the USA is not out of the picture by any means.
This Babylon Has a Space Program
Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 51:53)
Not every nation on our list has a significant space program[4].
I realize that most likely all of the 10 nations here have drones in the air which I think are important to mention and are described in Revelation 13:13, however the nation’s listed in this chart have bona fide interests in launching vehicles into space. Mostly for military purposes. We will give Russia the #1 nod because they were first in this category with Sputnik in 1959. Today, however, the USA has completely militarized space!
Is a Cultured Nation
And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. (Revelation 18:14)
And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; (Revelation 18:22)
There are 2 ways to look at this. Consumption and cultural export leadership: First let’s look at consumption[5].
I couldn’t find any data on China here so I listed her contribution as zero.
Movies[6] are still a force in the world and most of the viewpoints that nations have of the United States comes from watching our exported media.
Several nations did not have readily available data so a few more zero’s here but hard working, industrial Japan was a surprise at number 1[7].
Leading the world in TV consumption is the United States of America[8]. How is this other American innovation in media and entertainment fairing around the world?
China, the US and Japan are the top 3 internet users. There is no comparison for the vastly large Chinese population in this statistic but the internet was invented by the American military and brought to the world by Al Gore if you believe that story. (And thanks to the work of Edward Snowden, we know that it is being used to track us as a military weapon.)
Here is one very important cultural indicator:
China wins. What can I say! A hard working nation like China deserves a beer[9] at the end of the long workday.
Modern world culture is fueled by the US where Film, Radio, Television, the Internet and the Rock Concert business were created and flourishes and has successfully been spread to many nations. Even the “British Invasion” in music of the 60’s was based on American Folk and Blues. Clearly and with appropriate exceptions for Polka and Classical Music, American Culture dominates the world. Maybe that’s a mark of carrying the mantle of Babylon. It’s our influence on the world, particularly our influence on creating a culture that exists outside of our need to worship our Creator. A requirement for being a Christian nation that escapes judgement!
This Nation Called the Daughter of Babylon Has a Mother[10]
Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost[11] of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert. (Jeremiah 50:12)
So, let’s sum it all up.
The 10 top nations of wealth and means are:
The United States of America, China, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, Italy, India and Russia.
- Of these top ten nations, only The United States, Japan, The United Kingdom, France, Italy and Russia have more shoreline then land border.
- Of the remaining 6 nations, only the United States, The United Kingdom, France, Italy and Russia spend more than 1.50 % of their GDP on their military.
- Of the remaining 5 nations, only The United States, The United Kingdom, France and Russia have nuclear weapons.
- Of the remaining 4 nations, only the United States, France and Russia have a major space program.
- Of the remaining 3 nations, only 2 nations, the 2 Super Powers, The United States of America and Russia are leading industrial nations.
- Of the remaining 2 nations, the leading creator and exporter of mass culture, Music, Film, Booze, Radio, Television and the Internet is the United States.
- Of All 10 nations, only the United States has a mother nation and that being the United Kingdom or Great Britain.
Maybe you have wondered like I have wondered why the richest and strongest nation in world history, The United States of America, is not mentioned in the Bible. Could the USA be the one nation that most resembles the prophetic Babylon?
The first Babylon, Nimrod’s Babylon got off easy. Their unified anti God religion was broken up by God and the people were scattered and the languages were confused or changed. From Babylon came today’s worship of the sun and the female. Sex Goddess worship including the ritual slaughtering of the byproduct of sexual immorality, child sacrifice or the more modern term, abortion. This is the basis of Nimrod’s system of worship and the core concepts behind Christmas and Easter.
The nation being referred to here is named Babylon. But Babylon of old barely exists today as a museum of sorts in Iraq after Saddam Hussein tried to rebuild it. And yet we read:
“And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:” (Revelation 18:9-11)
It’s not too hard to see a future like that for the American version of Babylon nor is it hard to miss that America is leading the push to unify the nations under a New World Order featuring a single government, a single religion and a single currency. All in all, a retracement back to Nimrod’s original idea. THIS is right around the corner. Will America survive to see it?
